Calling the Legislative Message Line is an easy way to leave a message for legislators regarding SB106: “the midwives bill” or any other legislation. The toll-free Legislative Message Line: 1-800-372-7181  is only for leaving messages, you can not be transferred to speak to your legislator directly.  To do that, call the LRC at 502-564-8100 and ask for the specific legislator you wish to speak with. When you call the Message Line the operator will ask for your name, address, phone number and message. You can leave a message for more than one legislator but it is most effective to leave it for no more than three at a time. These messages will be delivered directly to the legislators desk, whereas messages left for many at a time are relegated to a bulletin board and are less likely to be seen. Be sure to thank the operator- they are busy answering phones and writing down messages as fast as they can- if the line is busy, call back. The Message Line is open from 7am- 11pm Mon-Thurs., and 7am-6pm on Fridays during the legislative session.

Right now we are asking supporters to use the Message Line to leave a message for their state senator asking them to “please co-sponsor SB106: “the midwives bill””. (Don’t know who your senator is? Enter your address on votesmart.org and look under state legislative.) Thanks for your continued support! We can’t do it without you!
