LCPM Statutes and Regulations

The laws pertaining to Kentucky LCPMs are in two places. First are the statutes (KRS). Statutes are created from legislation, or bills passed by the legislature. SB84 passed in 2019 was the bill that created the statutes for LCPMs. The statutes only change with a bill being passed in the legislature. In the statutes are instructions for certain items to be detailed out in regulations.

The regulations (KAR) are drafted by the CPM Advisory Council and then approved by the Kentucky Board of Nursing. From there, the regulations go through a public comment period, after which they may be amended by KBN. Regulations are then reviewed by the legislative Administrative Regulations Review Subcommittee. The final step is to be reviewed by the legislative committee related to the subject matter.

Below you can see the statutes and regulations related to LCPMs.
