Share Your Birth Story

Have you had a home birth or a midwife attended birth in Kentucky? Have you traveled outside of the state to be attended by a midwife or to give birth in a birth center? If the answer is yes, then you can help us put a face on birth in Kentucky.

We are continuing a series on our blog featuring birth stories and photos from real Kentucky families. Not only is it important to share our birth stories, but it is especially important that we share our stories of babies born with the help of a midwife in Kentucky.  The more we talk about and share our experiences, the more lawmakers will understand the importance of birth choices for the citizens of our state.

If you have a  birth story that you would like to share with us, please e-mail your story, along with any photos, to stories@kentuckyhomebirthcoalition.com.  Please include the town/city where the birth took place and the following statement:

“I am the copyright holder of this story and photo(s). I hereby grant permission for the Kentucky Birth Coalition to use this photo(s) on kentuckyhomebirthcoalition.com, related social media/networking sites, and in professional presentations. I give permission to use first names.”

It doesn’t matter if your birth was recent or long ago.

Thank you for continuing to help in the effort to expand birth options in Kentucky.
