We are now Kentucky Birth Coalition!

Since 2012, we have operated under the name “Kentucky Home Birth Coalition” with the primary goal of licensure of Certified Professional Midwives in Kentucky. However, the individuals who make up our organization had always cared about birth in ALL settings.

Our new name, Kentucky Birth Coalition, more accurately reflects that we are for everyone, regardless of your birth location (or even if you’ve never given birth). We believe that all families deserve access to quality birth options and skilled, respectful birth attendants. That may be at home, at the hospital, or in a freestanding birth center.

Our name change does not mean a departure from our work to advocate for CPMs. We are still very involved in following the process to create administrative regulations for CPMs, and will continue to advocate for midwives in whatever ways necessary.
