Our House bill, HB 578, has been referred to the House Health and Welfare Committee. We are on the agenda for March 17 at Noon.
You are invited to attend and show your support! Bring anyone and everyone, including children and babies. We will have stickers for everyone to wear.
SPECIFIC LOCATION– Capitol Annex Building (directly behind the Capitol building), Room 169.

Every citizen is invited to attend– moms, dads, aunts, uncles, grandparents, those without children, everyone who supports a family’s choice to having a qualified birth attendant of their choice.
The meetings being at noon, but **ARRIVE EARLY** to get a seat and stickers in support of the bill. We recommend you plan to be parked and in the building no later than 11:30am. If you can arrive early before the meeting, you can try to schedule a meeting with your Representative, since we still have to pass the full House after the Health & Welfare committee. We can arrange for others to accompany you to meetings, including steering committee members and/or members of our lobbying team. We will have resources to prepare you.
Here’s how to set up a meeting:
1. CALL YOUR REPRESENTATIVE AND ASK FOR A MEETING ON THIS DAY.
Find your REPRESENTATIVE here.
Call 502-564-8100 and ask the operator for the person you want to schedule with. You will then be connected to someone in their office.
Once connected, you can say the following:
“I am a constituent of Representative ____, and I will be in Frankfort on March 17. I would like to meet with Representative ____ on that day. I only need about 10 minutes.”
They may say the person has no availability, or they give you a time suggestion. If you cannot arrive as early as the time they give you, tell the person that. Do not schedule a meeting between 11:30am and 1:30pm, since that will be the time frame of the hearing! They will generally ask what the meeting is regarding. Your answer is House Bill 578.
2. PLEASE LET US KNOW WHEN YOU HAVE A MEETING SCHEDULED!
